MotoRota Privacy Policy

MotoRota is an application for motorcycle route planning, ride recording, and ride-memory management. This Privacy Policy explains which personal data may be processed in the current version of MotoRota, how that data is used, and the choices available to users.
1. Data we collect or process
Account and authentication information
- Email address
- User/account identifiers
- Authentication events associated with one-time verification codes
This data is processed to create MotoRota accounts, sign users in, manage sessions, and protect account security.
Location information
- Approximate location
- Precise location
Location data may be used for route planning, location-based search, weather information, ride recording, and other location-based application features. Users may decline location permission, although some GPS and location-based features may then be unavailable.
In-app search data
Search queries entered for addresses, places, or routes may be sent to relevant location/search service providers in order to return search results.
2. Data stored locally on your device
In the current version of MotoRota, some content — including routes, RecordedRide/ride records, RideStory content, notes, mood entries, photos, and videos — may be stored locally on the user's device. This local content is not automatically uploaded in full to MotoRota servers.
3. How we use data
- To provide core application functionality
- To create accounts, authenticate users, and manage sessions
- To provide route, location, weather, and place-search features
- To support security, abuse prevention, and service continuity
In the current version, MotoRota does not use personal data for targeted advertising and does not use the Android advertising ID.
4. Service providers and data transfers
Some MotoRota features rely on third-party service providers. These providers may process data necessary to deliver their services. Current infrastructure may include:
- Supabase — authentication and account infrastructure
- Resend — delivery of authentication emails
- Geoapify — place/address search and geocoding
- Open-Meteo — weather data
- Map/routing services used to generate routes (for example, OSRM or other providers depending on active configuration)
These providers may process data under their own terms and privacy policies. MotoRota does not sell user data to advertisers.
5. Data security
Data transmitted between MotoRota and supported external services is transferred over encrypted connections such as HTTPS/TLS. However, no internet-based system can guarantee absolute security.
6. Data retention
Server-side account data may be retained while an account is active or as long as necessary to provide the service. After a verified account deletion request, account-related server-side data will be deleted unless retention is required by applicable law, security, or other legal obligations.
7. Account and data deletion
To request deletion of your MotoRota account and associated server-side data:
Data stored locally on your device may need to be removed separately using in-app deletion controls or by clearing MotoRota app data on the device.
8. Children's privacy
MotoRota is designed for motorcycle riding and route-planning use and is not designed for children. Target-audience disclosures are managed separately in accordance with Google Play requirements.
9. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when features, legal requirements, or data-processing practices change. The current version will be published on this page.
